    "Feathers and the Fleet"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Feathers and the Fleet is an abstract exploration where softness meets structure Painted in a palette of dusty pinks, soft grays, and warm whites, this piece carries the whisper of feathers and the quiet presence of a ship seen on water. A black circle anchors the composition, while a bright yellow brushstroke and red circle offer bursts of energy, balanced by boxy shapes.

This painting was created while immersed in my Chicken Stories collection, the painting reflects a softened emotional state — a moment of gentle reflection and transition. The colors and marks became a place where two worlds met: the fragile beauty of my hens and the powerful silhouettes of ships on Lake Superior.

Feathers and the Fleet is about coexistence — of light and weight, softness and steel, the seen and the sensed. It’s a moment of movement and stillness, a quiet tribute to the stories that live between land and water, between sky and feather, between vessel and soul.

Thank you for drifting through this moment with me – Amy

The painting is finished with a protective varnish and comes wired, ready to hang.

    "Ship"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

"Ship" is a bold, gestural abstraction — a flurry of thick black movement lines layered with hints of mustard yellow and soft blue, all coursing across the surface in waves of energy. Overlaid with sweeping white brushstrokes, the piece pulses with tension and momentum, evoking the feeling of something powerful just beneath the surface.

Though titled "Ship", the painting suggests more than one vessel — shapes collide and overlap, as if a whole fleet is trying to push through the canvas at once. The energy is raw and chaotic where control gave way to emotion.

In this piece, the “Ship” becomes less about form and more about force — a symbol of journeys taken and the overwhelming tides we navigate. It speaks to inner storms and the messy, beautiful act of forging ahead.

"Ship" is not a single story, but many — layered, urgent, unresolved — and that is its power.

    "Vessels in Motion"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Vessels in Motion is a study in movement — a vibrant, shifting scene where form and fluidity blend into one another. The water, painted in yellow with ripples of white, green, and soft brown, feels alive and electric, as if lit from within. Across the surface, vessel-like shapes emerge — some clear, others blurred — as if seen from above or remembered in a dream.

Hints of teal and pumpkin orange drift across the canvas, suggesting boats, shadows, reflections. The lines between object and atmosphere blur, inviting the viewer to search, to pause, to look again. Are there two vessels... or more? Are they coming or going? Still, or slowly disappearing?

This piece doesn’t offer answers — it captures a moment of transition. Vessels in Motion is about the spaces in between — between arrival and departure, clarity and haze, the seen and the felt.

    "Awakening the Lake"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Awakening the Lake is a symphony of motion — a collision of sky and water where the line between the two blurs into energy and color. Oranges, greens, blues, and whites crash together in wild brushstrokes, capturing the lake not in stillness, but in its full, untamed power. The sky and water echo each other, differentiated only by the rhythm of the strokes, as if the lake itself is rising to meet the day.

Through the foam and turbulence, two dark blue ships charge forward, cutting through the chaos with purpose. On their decks, shapes hint at activity — a visual hum of motion and labor. These are not passive vessels drifting by; they are awake, alive, pushing against the current with urgency and strength.

This piece pulses with life. It’s about the awakening of the lake, yes — but also about momentum, perseverance, and the beauty in the mess of movement. The brushstrokes don’t just describe the scene — they are the scene: the splash, the wind, the spray, the work.

Awakening the Lake is a celebration of power — not just of ships or water, but of everything that refuses to be still.

Thank you for moving through the waves with me – Amy

    "Lime Tides"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Lime Tides pulses with energy and possibility. Floating in this surreal electric green lake are two yellow, pineapple-shaped buoys, each crowned with a red dot like a beacon or signal.

Black and white ship forms glide through the scene, abstract and geometric, their stark contrast cutting cleanly through the vivid lime waters. Scattered among them, soft circles of blue drift like echoes — moments of stillness among the rush.

Lime Tides is about embracing the unfamiliar, allowing intuition to take the brush, and letting the lake be seen in an entirely new light. It’s about movement through the unexpected — navigating strange waters with confidence and curiosity.

It reminds us that even the wildest colors, the strangest choices, can lead to beauty.

Original Artwork, 12" x 12" Acrylic on Canvas (.5" Deep) 2025 (Price Includes Sales Tax)

    "Cargo Across Yellow Horizon"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Cargo Across Yellow Horizon captures the surreal stillness of movement — three deep blue bulk carriers glide slowly across a sea of brilliant yellow. Their dark, blocky forms cut through the canvas, softened only by trails of pumpkin orange and white that shimmer in their wake. Hints of orange on the ships suggest activity — the hum of labor, the presence of people, the story of motion within stillness.

This was one of the earliest pieces in the Majestic Vessels series, and already it carried the essence of what would follow: scale, silence, wonder. The painting blurs the line between land and water, vessel and shadow, reality and dream. The yellow horizon feels more like memory than map — a place where time slows and light bends around the edges of the familiar.

Cargo Across Yellow Horizon is about presence — the quiet power of what moves slowly, steadily, across our field of vision. A tribute to the ships that pass each day.

Thank you for watching the horizon with me – Amy

    "Tangle on the Water"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

In Tangle on the Water, a fleet of yellow boats gather across a green lake, streaked with white. Some of the boats display their sails, but most rest with them down, caught in a still moment. Rising between them are brownish-purple posts, marking space. Among this dance of vessels, a dark blue dot anchors the eye, while a peach-toned, duck-like form glides nearby.

This painting is about pause — a moment of drift, disorder, and reflection. The boats are gathered, overlapping, tangled, as if caught between movement and memory. The composition hints at the complexity of stillness — how even in moments of rest, there can be noise, tension, questions left unsaid.

Tangle on the Water reflects the delicate chaos beneath the surface — of lakes, of vessels, of ourselves. It suggests that even beauty can feel crowded, even peace can be disorganized, and that in the tangle, something true is taking shape.

    "Great Lakes Fishing"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Great Lakes Fishing is a celebration of rhythm — a canvas alive with movement, layered with joy and curiosity. The waters take up the entire surface, a vibrant chorus of teals, greens, baby blues, and yellow-greens, each brushstroke echoing the motion of wind and water. There's a consistent flow across the piece, like the steady pulse of the lake itself.

Peachy-pink and red boats dot the water, their delicate forms standing out just enough to be noticed — and from each, fishing lines trail down into the shifting colors below. These lines are like quiet threads of hope, reaching into the unknown, connecting vessel to water, human to nature.

This painting holds the timeless work of those who make their living on the lake. Great Lakes Fishing is about patience, connection, and the unseen — what lies beneath the surface, what we wait for, what we believe might come, and the life it holds — above and below.

    "Golden Currents"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Golden Currents drifts between clarity and suggestion — a painterly meditation on movement, form, and the ever-shifting nature of light on water. The lake is composed of layered yellows — bright, muted, soft, and deep — flowing into one another like sunlight captured in motion.

Amid these golden tides, blocky silhouettes of vessels emerge: a deep blue bulk carrier, a deep blue boat, and a yellow-orange vessel, their shapes partially obscured by expressive overlays of white. These strokes don’t define the ships — they veil them, blur them, letting the viewer piece the story together.

This painting is less about the literal and more about feeling — the suggestion of motion, the presence of scale, the warmth of color and current. Golden Currents invites us to let go of definition, to float in the mystery of form and light, and to trust that even in abstraction, something familiar waits to be seen.

It is a glimpse of vessels not in focus, but in memory — as if caught out of the corner of your eye on a golden day.

    "Fogbound Horizon"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Fogbound Horizon is a painting that lives in mystery — where form emerges slowly, and beauty hides beneath layers of color and suggestion. The water is a deep, mesmerizing emerald green, laced with hints of teal — the richest greens in the Majestic Vessels series, evoking both depth and distance, as if the horizon itself has vanished into mist.

Amid the haze, shapes begin to surface: a single white brushstroke becomes a ghostly ship; a red outline suggests another, more imagined than real. Dark rust blocks rise like forgotten cargo or vanishing structures, while a small black vessel quietly floats among them — present, but nearly lost in the vastness.

Red brush lines curve across the canvas in open, broken gestures — like movement left behind. These strokes balance the composition, adding rhythm and tension, guiding the eye without explaining too much. Thick white shapes ground the work, creating contrast and weight in the atmosphere of softened edges.

Fogbound Horizon is a painting about uncertainty — about navigating what you can’t fully see, trusting color and instinct to guide you through. It invites the viewer to lean into the unknown, to find meaning not in clarity, but in quiet presence.

    "Lake Superior Reflection"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Lake Superior Reflection is an abstract that leans toward the familiar — a piece where form gently emerges from color, where viewers recognize the essence of water, light, and motion. The deep dark blues of the lower canvas evoke the vast, cold depths of the lake, while rolling white foam moves across the bottom edge like waves breaking against the shoreline.

As the eye moves upward, the palette shifts — the water turns into luminous seafoam green and bright teal, capturing the way sunlight and sky reflect across the surface in ever-changing patterns. Two black, oval-like ships drift through this brightness, their shapes ambiguous yet anchored. Subtle peach markings suggest ship structures, glints of metal, or reflections of something passing by.

This piece is both vivid and meditative — a portrait of the lake as it is often remembered: in movement, in color, in fleeting reflection. It captures not just the look of Lake Superior, but the feeling of watching it — its shifting moods, its vast presence, its capacity to both calm and awaken.

Lake Superior Reflection reminds us that clarity doesn’t always come from sharp edges, but from recognition — the emotional memory of a place we’ve seen a hundred times and somehow still find new.

    "Whispers on the Shore"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Whispers on the Shore is a meditation. Soft greens, muted purples, delicate whites, and warm pinks and peaches flow across the canvas in a harmonious rhythm, creating a landscape that feels both dreamlike and deeply familiar.

Two white-outlined boats float calmly on the serene water, their presence quiet but certain — like memories drifting close. The land unfolds in washes of soft pinks and rich peaches, grounding the composition with warmth and subtle texture. This piece carries steady brushwork and thoughtful restraint, creating more space to feel, more silence to inhabit.

Whispers on the Shore is about subtlety — the things that don’t demand to be seen but remain with us nonetheless. It is the emotional echo of a peaceful place, the lingering impression of a shoreline conversation, the way light touches water when no one is watching.

It’s a painting that doesn’t ask for interpretation, only attention — and in return, it offers stillness, softness, and something sacred in the quiet.

    "Quiet Catch"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Quiet Catch is a painting that whispers rather than shouts. Composed with soft greens, pinks, purples, and whites, anchored by warm, rich browns, the entire piece feels like an early morning memory, suspended in stillness. The waters in tender greens and blues, the strokes consistent and deliberate, painted with the same-sized brush throughout — creating a steady rhythm.

Across this calm surface, white and mustard-colored ships glide quietly, some sharply defined, others fading into the landscape. Their presence is subtle. The land, painted in earthy pinks and browns, holds the scene with quiet dignity, offering contrast without disruption.

Quiet Catch is about holding still long enough to notice — to catch the beauty in softness, in repetition, in the harmony of color and movement. It’s a reflection on presence: how the lake, the ships, the land are all part of one slow, thoughtful gesture.

This is not a painting about a dramatic moment, but about everything that happens between them.

    "Bulk Carriers"

Part of the Majestic Vessels Collection

Bulk Carriers marks the beginning — the early pulse of what would become a deeper journey into surrealism. In this piece, large ships float across a vivid, almost neon green lake. Their forms are bold and blocky, painted in bright oranges and a glowing teal — not quite real, yet undeniably present. They feel both monumental and otherworldly, lit from within like floating monoliths. Shapes rise from the vessels — perhaps people, perhaps cargo, perhaps something reaching upward.

Inspiration comes watching the massive ships pass by my window, this piece captures the surreal beauty of these industrial giants — their slow, steady presence on the horizon, the way they light up the darkness, and their strange stillness despite their scale. From a distance, they almost seem to hover, caught between water and sky, between the real and the imagined.

Bulk Carriers is the moment where observation meets transformation — where reality begins to stretch and shift into something more dreamlike. It’s the quiet start of a larger conversation — between artist and landscape, motion and memory, vessel and soul.

Thank you for witnessing the beginning with me – Amy
